I have to admit to you all that I regret buying this tuxedo blazer! I bought it a week ago, and I must have seen about three people with it already, which is the same reason that I passed on this Forever21 studded jacket that I really liked (just too cliche). I can see I am going to have to be very careful with my shopping selections because everyone is loving the same places these days. How awful would it be to show up at an event with the same outfit on as someone else! Ugh!
Although this blazer is making its rounds, I haven't seen anyone actually pair it with the trousers that accompanied it. I am not a huge fan of white. It is a very unforgiving color, and it gets dirty quickly, but there was just something about this look that made me pick it up. I would describe this look as the modern "power suit". Still classic, yet updated with a modern edge. This tuxedo blazer has the perfect amount of shoulder padding, and the suit paired together with trousers has a very tailored appearance. I have to say I love it! I do not wear suits often because they never have the right fit! This suit is not a perfect fit, but it is pretty close. What are your thoughts? Are you a suit wearer?
Great suit. I rarely wear matching suit jackets and pants, I prefer to mix and match.

Don't regret it, you look wonderful! And it's all in how you wear something so as long as you make the look distinctly you, it doesn't matter if someone else wears it. This is a great look on you!

ReplyDeleteIKR OMGGGGGG I have that blazer and that's the reason it's been hanging in my closet a year...I've just seen so many people wear it already it made me not excited to break mine out. But I must say I LOVE how your paired yours with matching pants. I definitely wear suits to work all the time.

I don't see any YouTubers, bloggers or IG'ers doing anything original! If like it I'm buying it and imma rock the ish out of it!!

ReplyDeleteLove everything about this look! Sometimes I try to avoid certain items in F21 or Asos b/c I know alot of people have them, but if it's something I love I will buy it, wait until the buzz dies down and actually wear it a few months later.

My motto is "nobody can wear it like me..." period! I can see how it would be uncomfortabe being bobsy twins with somone else at an event but...Nobdy can wear it like you! I love the way you can wear a skinny belt with your pants KIM! Makes me want to invest time with a tailor to make my clothes fit so I can accessorize in that fashion...You look gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteYou look fab sis!!! I would have to say that you can NEVER go wrong with classic. The tuxedo blazer is 'in' now but it is something that will be around for YEARS to come!!! Not to mention no matter how many people have a piece you do, NO ONE can do it like YOU... That is what I believe (at least)... I don't care if 15 people had on the same dress because I know that I bring sass, personality and eclectic style to any piece! ;) I think you should buy what you like! Especially as a style blogger... MANY a people will want too (and will) mimic your look! Blessings!

ReplyDeleteOmg this looks amazing on you. I struggle to find a blazer and even pants! I am curvy with large hips smaller waist and I'm very busty- so nothing fits right. I always end up having to buy a blazer or even jacket that I can't button up, I have to wear open and they end up sitting in my closet because I don't like that they don't fit me well. I dread the day I may have to buy a suit for a job related reason, but I would absolutely love to own one as gorgeous as this - maybe not white, but you killed it. Love your style.
