The NC Symphony & Faux Fur

faux fur - QVC
skinny jeans - Cato Fashions (another great find)
wedges - payless (ya'll already know how I feel about these wedges)
handbag - Zara

On Saturday, hubby took me to see a classic, The Wizard of Oz on a giant screen with the North Carolina Symphony performing the soundtrack live.  It was such a nice experience, and it was not the average dinner and a movie date.  I am so blessed to have a husband who takes the time to think of fun and cultural ways for us to spend time together.  If you have never seen a symphony perform, I would definitely recommend it because the sound was amazing!  I have been looking for a cute faux fur vest for awhile, and where did I find one?  Well, my mother's closet of course!  My mother is the ultimate fashionista, and her closet is full of treasures.  I believe she picked up this faux fur gem from QVC awhile ago.  I am glad that I was able to have fun on Saturday because when I woke up on Sunday I had a distorted face, apparently from a severe allergic reaction to something.  I am out of work and taking my meds, while hoping for a speedy recovery.  So, I will come back to you as soon as I can:-)

Colored Trousers

denim shirt - Forever21
ankle pants - Cato Fashions (I know right! Who knew?)
pumps - Zara
handbag - Zara

I don't have a lot of trousers at all, so when I saw these green ones I just had to pick them up!  They fit perfectly and I love the ankle-length style of pant.  I never had such a strong attraction to color (due to my love for black) until I tried these on!  I paired them with my favorite denim shirt of the moment because denim goes with everything, and I felt that it made the look less dressy.  I am now on a mission to find more colorful trousers for the holidays!  Thanksgiving day is always filled with love, food, and a lot of laughter.  I hope you all had a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving.

Day to Night: The Cargo Jacket

Cargo jackets have always been in style, but lately I have seen pictorials featuring the classic army jacket.  So, I decided to pull mine out of the closet and show you how I take my jacket from day to night!

Look 1 : Layering

Jacket - Lane Bryant similar here
jeggings - Lane Bryant
top - Lane Bryant
boots - Easy Spirit
bag - Dooney & Bourke
In the past, I was not one to layer my clothing too much, but now you can find me in layers on any day of the week.  The cargo jacket was made for layering!  You can wear an oversized blouse and a sweater under an army jacket because they usually have a relaxed fit.  For a casual look, I paired it with my favorite jeggings and chelsea style boots.  The perfect outfit for running errands or shopping!

Look 2: Night Out
skirt - Lane Bryant
wedges - Payless (I live in these wedges lately!)
belt - Michael Kors
For an evening out when you are not trying to do too much, this would be such a comfortable and fun way to wear your army jacket.  I love how cargo jackets look paired with a belt.  It really gives the jacket structure.  I had to pair it with my favorite skater skirt that I have worn with so many outfits!  It looks great with almost anything.  How do you wear your army jacket?

Fall Fashion Looks

Lately, I have been inspired by all of the amazing fall fashion articles and blogs that I have been reading, and I wanted to share two looks for fall that exemplify some trends that I am really enjoying.

Camouflage Glam

Camouflage has been popular for awhile, and I am so glad that I purchased this blazer last fall.  I told you all in a previous post that it takes me a long time to wear my purchases, and this is a perfect example of that.  This blazer has been sitting in my closet for a year, and I really don't know why!  I finally decided to pull it out and keep the look feminine, by pairing it with a sequin tank and skinny trousers, instead of going for a grunge look.  If you have been with me for awhile you know that I have always had a love/hate relationship with pants, but this fall I am all about pants, and the styles that I am loving are straight, skinny, and ankle length trousers (definitely in the color black).  Oh! Can I talk about my new Zara shoes....I'm in love!

blazer - Tillys.com (sold out but similar here)
sequin tank - Lane Bryant
skinny pants - Avenue
pumps - Zara

Plaid & Faux Leather

My next post will most likely be about faux leather, but I found a winner in this plaid shirt that features a faux leather collar and trim.  Plaid is simply classic and another huge love of mine this fall.  I simply adore this top and how the faux leather gives it an edgy vibe.  I decided to pair this once again with my skinny leg trousers and wedges, which are always fashionable and comfortable.  I really think this look would have been cute with some American Apparel disco pants (I know, could you imagine me wearing those). Honestly, I have wanted those pants for 2 years.  Do any of you, who are close to my size, have any pants from American Apparel?  I am too scared to make the purchase because I am so bottom-heavy!  I have not seen a hefty plus size woman, such as myself, wearing them yet!  So, I guess I should lose a couple of pounds before I splurge!

plaid shirt - Internacionale
skinny pants - Avenue
handbag - Forever21
wedges - Franco Sarto
Which look do you like the best?  Thanks so much for reading...xo
