Free As A Bird

I spent a blissful saturday, free as a bird, with my husband yesterday.  I don't have kids yet, so many weekends my husband and I wake up and go wherever the mood hits us. Yesterday, we decided Richmond, VA would be the perfect place to do a little shopping.  A lot of you always ask me about wearing crop tops, or express the desire to wear crop tops, but don't want to actually show stomach.  Well, this bird print top is perfect for those ladies who want to wear a crop top, and still be fully covered.  I love it, and I have had it for a month, but decided to pull it out for the first time yesterday.  The jeans are a recent purchase from New Look!  I love them (they have the perfect amount of stretch), the only issue was that I had to get them takin in at the waist, but I still think they are too big!  It's no fun having a waist that does not match your hips!  I put my heels on when I got ready to take pictures because I have to shop comfortably.  I was so grateful to be able to spend some quality time with my husband and do something fun for a change, due to the fact that work has my full attention these days.  So, until next time stay fabulous:-)

Boutique Love

When I was asked to do a review for shapelylouise I had to say yes!  She is a fellow blogger with a flair for style, and I was delighted when she allowed me to pick two items from her online boutique.  The clothing is very affordable, and her website features dresses, rompers, leggings, and blazers for all sizes.  One of the unique aspects of the boutique is that she also sells vintage items, so there is a little something for everybody.

This first dress that I received is super cute, and I love the color.  Stripes are always a hit for me, and I received so many compliments when I wore this!  The dress was on the short side for me, so I paired it with leggings.  I also plan to tuck it in and wear it with a pencil skirt to work; it is a very versatile piece.

The second item that I received is a dress that my sister said gives her a 70’s vibe.  I have to agree with her; it is quite adorable.  The dress is form-fitting, as you can see, and it is definitely for those ladies who like to show off their curves.  It also features an exposed zipper at the back (which I love), and a deep V.  It can be hard to find a dress with a low back that does not expose your bra, and I definitely must wear a bra at all times.  I only have two caveats regarding the pieces.  The workmanship of the seams was a little inconsistent in some places, and I would recommend sizing up, but overall they are both cute!  I believe that these items are sold out, but go check out all of the latest fashions over on shapelylouise.com.

KinkyCurlyCoilyMe: iRock Men's Clothing

Last week, I wrote my first article for KinkyCurlyCoilyMe, where I am a guest fashion blogger. I showed readers how I rock the "menswear" trend to work, so make sure you head over there and check out my outfit and tips.  Stay tuned for my next post where I will be reviewing two items that I was sent from Shapely Louise, a fellow fashion blogger, who also owns an online boutique.  See you next time!

Sunday Brunch

Outfit Details
Top - Lane Bryant
skirt - My mama's closet
Sandals - Target
Handbag - Gift

I have been super duper busy lately, as you can see from my lack of posts, but I have so much going on right now!  I hope to be getting back into the swing of things soon, so expect more from me in the near future!  Today was such a lovely day that I had to get my hubby to snap some pics of my "Sunday Brunch" look.  I am very family oriented, and I am extremely close to my family.  Sundays have always been a day to fellowship at church, eat, and spend quality time with the ones that I love.  What do you do on Sundays?
