What To Wear | Cocktail Party

I received another request on my youtube channel to show what I would wear to a Cocktail party, and I instantly thought about this fabulous asymmetrical neckline dress that I have only worn twice!  I bought this dress from HSN when Beyonce's mom had a line called MissTina (this line is now exclusively sold at Walmart and the quality is not the same unfortunately).  I paired the dress with a faux suede jacket that I recently picked up from Forever 21 and my favorite pair of open-toe suede platform pumps, by Libby Edelman. There are many options to choose from when dressing for a Cocktail party, but this was my vision.  If you want to hear more about this outfit check out my video.

You all already know that I am a big fan of the color black.  It is just my favorite color, but every now and then I like to change it up and add a pop of color.  From a previous post, you can see that my color of choice is usually some shade of orange.  I cannot get away from this color, and I seem to gravitate towards it every time I looking to add a bit of life to my wardrobe.  So if you are a lover of "black" like me, switch it up and give your outfit a little pop!

When I received a request on my youtube channel to do a look wearing high-waisted pants, I couldn't wait to pull something together.  I love anything high-waist because it makes you look slimmer, and if you have a little tummy it is a creative way to camouflage it.  Although I adore these slim leg high-waist pants, I wish they had some stretch.  I do not buy anything that does not contain a stretch, but these pants were only $13.00, so how could I not buy them!  


I like to wear pants like this with a blazer because I am bottom-heavy, and I think it is a more flattering way to wear pants that they may be fitted.  I just love the color green; I think it looks so pretty against my skin tone.  I added a contrasting pop of color with my earrings, so everything wouldn't be the same color.  I have to say that I love this look.  So, if you don't have a pair of high-waist trousers, run out and get some!

Last night, my hubby and I went to a house party for my coworker's birthday.  I have not been to a house party in a long time, so I forgot how fun they are!  We had a good time laughing and socializing.  My entire outfit is from Forever 21, which is surprising considering the fact that most of their clothes are hit and miss for me.  I have been wanting a pair of red jeans forever, and I was surprised to find some that actually fit in there.  I just love the dip hem shirt that I paired with the jeans.  It was a size L, but I knew it would fit when I saw how big it was.  Sometimes I am lucky and can fit into L tops, so I was happy.  Lastly, I picked up the platform pumps from Old Navy.  Sadly, I live in a very rural town and my store is going out of business, so these shoes were only $14.  I have to say I felt very cute..Good Times!
