Prep School: Bloggers Do It Better

The task for the Bloggers Do It Better Challenge this week was “Prep School,” focusing on the menswear trend, and the one requirement was to wear a tie.  Now you know I had to add my classic "lady-like" flare to the outfit, so I decided to improvise and use the tie from my NY & CO sheer leopard print blouse that I wore in a post awhile back.  When I first saw that the prep look was this week’s challenge I was excited.  I tried to figure out how I could stay within the guidelines, but make the challenge my own without wearing the traditional tie.

I am not fond of the tie look, but I do love bows.  When I saw this shirt sitting at the back of my closet, I had to pull it out again.  I made a pretty bow tie and I felt happy all day.  I paired the top with a tailored blazer from Old Navy, slim leg trousers, and my purple Nine West pumps.  This challenge was fun!  I can’t wait to see what’s next because it gives me the motivation to actually take the time to post an outfit.  It is the end of the school year for me and I am tired and ready to start my summer break!  So until next time ladies, stay fabulous!

White Out: Bloggers Do It Better

I am going to admit a secret to you all, I have a problem with time and I always seem to be running late.  I know...I know...don't bash me, it is a very poor habit and I am trying to work on it.  Whether its work, church, or shopping, I am always behind schedule.  I am not the kind of person that likes to join the crowd and "participate" in many things, but I had to get in on the Bloggers Do It Better challenge.  I missed out on the "Color Block" challenge (will revisit this concept later), but I decided to join the gang for the second one.

This week bloggers were supposed to give their interpretation of the "All-White" trend that has been popular on fashion runways.  I barely made it, but better late than never. Now I love the color white, although I don't think it loves me.  It can be hard for a full-figured woman to pull off an all-white ensemble, so I went for the blend of neutrals technique.  I have to say I loved how I was able to pull everything together at the last minute.
